July 30th was International Friendship Day, and what better a way to show how diverse the Overwatch community is, than to highlight the massive range of players that are in the Overwatch League. Not only that, but to show that high level of diversity, united together, all under one roof.
Roston “Thelonious” Yoo, Team Manager of the Philadelphia Fusion, demonstrated just that today on Twitter.
The official tweet reads.
We at the Overwatch Wire have spoken time and again about how diverse the community is. Whether it be in-game, or based on the player base, the community for Overwatch is overwhelmingly welcoming. The game itself depicts heroes from all walks of life, and whether it be in cultural background or orientation, everyone is made to feel welcome both in-game and outside of it.
As Yoo mentioned, there are those on the Fusion from ten different countries all living under one roof, ranging from Canada, Spain, Israel, and all the way to Korea. What a better way to depict and celebrate International Friendship Day, than with such a broad of a spectrum of countries.
The staff and players for the Fusion had quite the season this year, and while it may be over, they still have each other. With that, we look forward to seeing them back again next season, possibly even with more people from even more walks of life.
