LaMelo Ball is projected to be one of the first few players selected in next year’s 2020 NBA Draft, and he’s working to prove in Australia’s NBL that he should be the surefire No. 1 overall selection.
Ball has been excellent for the Illawarra Hawks this season, but he made history this week by becoming the first player to record consecutive triple-doubles since the NBL changed the length of games from 48 to 40 minutes.
On Monday, Ball dominated in a overtime win over the Cairns Taipans, and hit a clutch three in the final seconds to tie the game in regulation.
In his next game against the New Zealand Breakers, Ball kept the Hawks in the game until late in the fourth quarter, and finished the game with 25 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
